PepeMAX: Playing to Win

Last night, nearly 200 eager poker players participated in a collaborative Poker Tournament hosted and streamed by Chaka Crypto. PepeMAX, TRL Token, Mr. Gin, Stewie Token, and Volt Inu united to offer prizes totaling over $1,000 in value. PepeMAX upped the ante and their exposure by offering a “biggest buy” competition during the entire run of the tournament. I was among the first 50 players to exit the tournament, but the engagement alone was a win for me.

Don’t Fold On The Frog

If you haven’t gotten to know PepeMAX, now would probably be a good time to step into their Telegram channel and see what the meme project is all about. To me, successful meme coins must have a strong community, solid marketing, and a bit of luck to make a dent in this space. Last night’s poker tournament demonstrated that PepeMAX means business. I like what I saw, and I do not believe the token will be sitting at its current market cap for long.

PepeMAX is less than three weeks old, but the team is leveraging years of crypto experience and connections. The project weathered a few early profit takers, but for the most part, has held the $30,000 to $40,000 market cap pretty consistently. What PepeMAX showed last night is that they are not afraid to collaborate for the benefit of the token and community. Too many crypto projects position themselves in their own corners and are hesitant to work with other projects. I get it. In this space you never know who has good intentions, and endorsing the wrong project may expose your holders to risks. That is why relationships matter.

Too Many Pepes On The Lily Pad

I was hesitant when I first learned of PepeMAX, and for good reason. Before you finish typing the word “pepe” into DexTools search, you are greeted with over a dozen pepe-related results. Pepe burnout has already set in, and I imagine that I’m not alone in this. Pepe has been done before, so the natural thought is that this token will face the same end that previous Pepe clones faced – an early exit. Something seems different with PepeMAX. In this team, I see an “all hands on deck” mentality. They really are working to build a strong community, and they don’t care who gets the credit as long as the token and community reap the benefit. It’s the same thing I saw in the early days of Zeleboba, and what we hope to bring back with the move to Arbitrum. If the PepeMAX team can maintain their current work ethic and ego-free approach, this frog coin will gain its legs.

Holding Pocket Aces

I am not telling you to go “All in” on PepeMAX. Remember, I do not give financial advice. All in on crypto is never a good strategy in my opinion. A winning hand in poker is all about how you play your hand and what falls your way. I’ve seen teams fold under pressure, and I’ve seen people take losing hands and bluff their way to winning the pot. I’ve never been a winning poker player, but I imagine it takes a lot of skill, luck, and the ability to avoid bad habits. This is where I see PepeMAX.

So Where’s The Value?

I got knocked out of the tournament when I overplayed my hand. I was getting a little tired and I wanted to make a power move to gain a chip advantage. I led with a bet that shook all but one player at the table. It was decision time.

PepeMAX can choose to overplay the Pepe name or develop their own identity within the Pepe brand. It will take some work to shake off Pepe burnout, and for that to happen, the community will need to drive the charge.

The Flop – PepeMAX’s early moves are driving excitement and laying the groundwork for future collaborations.

The Turn Breaking and holding the $50,000 market cap ceiling is a must. The team is making an effort, but this mark seems to be as elusive as holding Four of a Kind. In my opinion, it’s too early to talk utilities and long term plans at this time. The project needs a face and someone to participate in some serious AMAs to invite more eyes.

The River – Few players make it this far. If PepeMAX is able to make a charge and stay in the game through the next bull run, early holders will be able to rake in the chips. A lot has to fall into place. Holders will always be looking for the next best hand in the game and jump from project to project. PepeMAX can ill-afford to worry about fickle holders.

Build community. Establish identity. Collaborate for success. Play to stay in the game.
